Assalamu Alaikum!
I’m planning to visit Hira Cave during my Umrah journey, and I would like some guidance on how to get there from the Haram. Are there any specific routes, transportation options, or tips for making the trip easier?
JazakAllah for your help!
Wa Alaikum Assalam!
Here are some options for reaching Hira Cave from Masjid al Haram, along with helpful tips for your journey:
Shared Bus Option (Budget-Friendly):
If you’re on a tight budget, you can take a shared bus from Ibrahim Khalil Road. This option costs around 10 Riyals per person and includes a tour of multiple ziyarats in Makkah. However, keep in mind that the bus only stops briefly (20-30 minutes), so you won’t have enough time to hike up to the top of Jabal al-Nour or see Hira Cave closely.
Private Taxi or Uber (Direct Access):
For a more convenient visit, especially if you want to climb up and fully explore Hira Cave, taking a private taxi or booking an Uber from the Haram is ideal. A taxi usually costs 30-40 Riyals (one way), depending on your bargaining skills, while Uber costs around 9-15 Riyals (one way), depending on the ride type.
Climbing Jabal al-Nour:
The hike up Jabal al-Nour can be challenging and takes about 1-2 hours to reach the top, with around 30 minutes to descend. Plan for a full day to make the most of the experience. Early morning or late afternoon are often the best times to climb, as it can get very hot.
Essential Tips for the Climb:
– Water and Snacks: Bring plenty of water and snacks with you, as prices are quite high at Hira Food Street near the base. Buying from a local supermarket like BinDawood can help you save. Due to the hot weather, staying hydrated is crucial during the hike.
– Climbing Technique: Walk at a slow, steady pace, using a zigzag path to conserve energy.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions. May you have a blessed and safe visit!
Jazak Allah khair!
Thank you so much for this detailed information.
Does the Makkah bus not go toward Jabal al Nour?
The Makkah bus goes toward Jabal al-Nour but doesn’t stop near it. So, taking a taxi is the only option to get there directly.
Okay, thank you 🙂
