What is the average Umrah cost for 20 days?

Aslamo Alikum,
I am planning a 20 or 23 days Umrah trip and want to know the average Umrah cost for this duration. Can anyone share estimates or a breakdown of typical expenses, including travel, accommodation, and other essentials?
Thank you

  1. Wa Alikum Salam Sister,
For a 20-day Umrah trip in December or January, the cost can vary depending on how you plan your journey. Here is an approximate breakdown of the expenses to help you get a clear idea.

First, airline tickets will cost around 2300 SAR for adults and 1900 SAR for children under 12 if you’re flying with Saudi Airlines. For visas, expect to pay 500 SAR if you don’t need transportation included or 550 SAR if transportation is included.

Accommodation costs depend on the location and hotel quality. In Makkah, a 3-4 star hotel with a shuttle service will cost you about 100-110 SAR per night, while in Madinah, staying within 400 meters of the Haram will cost around 350-400 SAR per night. For food, local transportation, and other expenses, plan to spend approximately 1500 SAR per person.

In total, the cost for a 20-day Umrah trip typically ranges between 7600 and 8500 SAR per adult, with kids costing slightly less because of the cheaper airfare.

If you have a good budget, I recommend going for a DIY Umrah plan so you can customize your trip according to your needs. You can use our DIY Umrah cost calculator to estimate your total expenses.

However, booking an Umrah package through a travel agent might be a better option if you are on a tight budget. Packages often save money by sharing accommodation and transportation costs.
