Where to get medicine in Makkah during Umrah?

If I get sick during Umrah, where can I get medicine in Makkah? Are there any free clinics or hospitals that accept Umrah health insurance for treatment and medication? Any specific locations or details would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

  1. If you get sick during Umrah, you can visit Makkah Ajyad Emergency Hospital, which is a free facility operated by the Saudi Ministry of Health. It’s located near Alsafwah Tower, toward the Ajyad Bus Stop. Here’s how it works:
-Take your passport and Umrah visa to the hospital to get a token for consultation.
    -Wait for your turn.
-A doctor will provide you with a diagnosis.
-You will receive free medication from the in-hospital pharmacy.

    Important Tips:
-Be patient, as waiting times can be long.
-The staff and doctors are often described as rude and may struggle with English, so you might need assistance if language becomes a barrier.
-To avoid long waits, consider bringing basic medications (for fever, pain, colds, etc.) from home or buying them from pharmacies near Haram. But keep in mind medicines are extremely expensive in Saudi Arabia.

Hope this helps, and may Allah grant you a safe and healthy Umrah!
