Free wheelchair in Masjid al-Haram for Umrah

I’m traveling for Umrah with an elderly family member who needs a wheelchair. I’ve heard there are free wheelchair services available at Masjid al-Haram, but I’m unsure about the exact location, requirements, and process for borrowing one. Could someone guide me on where to get a wheelchair, what documents are required, and if there are any rules to keep in mind?

  1. You can get a free wheelchair at Masjid al-Haram near gate number 16, where the bridge ends. To borrow a wheelchair, go to this counter and provide details of the elderly or needy person requiring assistance. You’ll need to leave either your or the needy person’s passport with the staff, who will then issue a free wheelchair. Make sure to return the wheelchair after use to retrieve the passport. Note that this service is strictly for those in need; using it for other purposes could lead to serious consequences if you are caught.
